Paris – I have been here for 4 days, as we landed I had no expectations on what to see during personal time.  The primary focus of this trip was for me to attend the Servicemax.com event called MaxLive at the Intercontinential Le Grand Hotel.

I landed Sunday morning, took a 1 hour nap and put on my walking shoes.  After meeting up with Jonathan Skelding from Servicemax, he gracious enough to “show me around” Paris.

We hit the Louvre first as you can see by the obligatory photo. Tuileries Garden is immediately adjacent to the Louvre and I really got a sense that the Parisians love their open space, and wine in the park.  It was really great.

Over the course of a couple miles we meandered back in the direction of the hotel and we hit a number of other usual landmark churches and town squares.

My take away from my first few days is, I want to come back, and I will at the end of my European vacation that started today.  Prior to flying home for Thanksgiving I intend on spending the last few days of my vacation and flying out of Charles De Gualle (a horribly laid out airport).

The Servicemax event was a success on many levels.  Meeting with our clients and prospects from Europe was great and they appreciated my attendance also.  On to London tomorrow to meet our European team, present to them and sightsee in London.

The French people were very nice, very professional and supremely focused on making sure we enjoyed our visit completely contrary to what others warned me about.

Here are some interesting places I visited and dined at:
